National TIM Response Training Course Updated

September 11, 2018

The update to the National Highway Institute’s (NHI) Web-Based Training (WBT) version of the National TIM Responder Training course is complete. The update focused on making the online version consistent with the March 2017 update to the in-person training materials and improving the functionality of the course.

Participants are still required to pass a final exam with a minimum score of 70%, however, they are now provided with up to three chances to pass the exam.

It is very important to note that the NHI course number has been updated to: 133126A

Due to this change, the last page of the TIM Responder Training Student Handout has been updated and the revised handout is attached for your use. We ask that you distribute this updated file to your active trainers. For those states with state-specific handouts, we will distribute the revised versions by the end of the week.

Below is the text provided in the student handout.

NHI provides a free online version of the National TIM Responder Training course. The course includes an overview and nine lessons and takes approximately four hours to complete. The lessons are narrated and include knowledge check questions. To receive a completion certificate, students are required to score 70% or higher on the 20 question final exam. Students are also prompted to complete a course evaluation prior to being able to print their course certificate.
