CouncilsEducationOverviewThe NASEMSO Education Council serves as a resource for state EMS officials that are tasked to implement the consensus-based approach to EMS education described in the EMS Education Agenda for the Future: A Systems Approach published by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) in 2000, as revised by the National EMS Advisory Council in 2014.AboutMissionTo promote the evolution of the EMS education system by providing resources to advise states on matters related to education, certification, continuing education, and program credentialing.VisionThe Education Council seeks continuous quality improvement among EMS education programs through increased collaboration, effective communications, and sharing up-to-date technology and innovations with stakeholders.ScopeThe Education Council will provide a forum for communication, interaction, and networking between peers. This forum will allow for the sharing of best practices; developing and encouraging mentoring programs; the joint resolution of obstacles and challenges; and the nationwide promotion of evidence-based decision making for EMS system development.
