Personnel Licensure

Overview

The Personnel Licensure Council formulates recommendations on policies and positions specific to EMS licensing matters. These recommendations are considered by the NASEMSO Executive Committee, and positions are taken by the association as a whole to represent consensus of all state and territorial EMS offices, nationwide.

Vision

The vision of the Personnel Licensure Council is to be a national leader in developing and maintaining initial and renewal licensing standards for state EMS offices to assure a safe and competent EMS workforce.

Mission

The mission of the Personnel Licensure Council is to promote the professionalism of EMS personnel, and protect the public, through the development of state EMS office leadership and infrastructure.

Scope

The Personnel Licensure Council provides a forum for communication, interaction and networking between peers, other national organizations and federal agencies with similar missions. This forum allows for the sharing of best practices; developing and encouraging mentoring programs; the joint resolution of obstacles and challenges; and the nationwide promotion of evidence-based decision making.

Meeting Schedule

The Council meets the 4th Tuesday of even-numbered months at 2:00 PM Eastern.
