Kathy Robinson recipient of ENA 2019 Lifetime Achievement Award

The Emergency Nurses Association has announced that NASEMSO Strategic Partnerships Director and Program Manager Kathy Robinson, RN, Paramedic, is the recipient of the prestigious ENA Lifetime Achievement Award. This award is presented annually to honor a nurse whose career achievements reflect dedicated service, accomplishments and/or contributions to emergency nursing that have value to emergency nursing beyond the recipient’s lifetime.

Kathy has more than 25 years experience in EMS and emergency nursing as a clinician, government administrator, patient advocate, and health care policy consultant. Her extensive experience as a licensed registered nurse and certified paramedic includes various clinical and administrative roles at both a rural and large tertiary care medical centers in central Pennsylvania.

Kathy’s NASEMSO responsibilities include project management of the initiative to combat fatigue in EMS practitioners, which has already yielded actionable recommendations. Next steps include an experimental study and development of a biomathematical model. She recently became the NASEMSO Strategic Partnerships Director in line with NASEMSO’s new strategic plan in an effort to solidify relationships with EMS industry partners. A recent major accomplishment was manning the National EMS Scope of Practice Model revision project. Kathy also has primary staffing responsibilities for NASEMSO’s Trauma Managers Council and Education Committee.

The formal award presentation will be made October 1, in the Hall of Honor at the ENA Emergency Nursing Conference in Austin, TX.
