The NHTSA Office of EMS advances a national vision for EMS through projects and research, fosters collaboration among federal agencies involved in EMS planning, measures the health of the nation’s EMS systems and delivers the data EMS leaders need to help advance their systems.Experienced job seekers looking to join the team and serve in a hands-on role overseeing projects of national significance to improve emergency medical services, highway safety and pre-hospital health care are encouraged to apply.Duties include:Working with the technical complexities and policy issues of comprehensive EMS systems, 911 systems, highway safety, trauma and other time-sensitive care systems, at the local, state and federal levelCollaborating with officials at all government levels and with private industry and special interest groups related to emergency medical services, 911 systems and highway safety issuesParticipating in national EMS performance measure initiatives by interfacing with national EMS performance measures organizations, establishing performance measurement parameters and initiating an ongoing and performance improvement strategyApplications will be accepted until October 30.
