jobEMS Data Promotion Officer for NEMSIS (UT) January 9, 2019Join the NEMSIS team and transform information into evidence-supported action by providing clinical expertise for the National Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Information System (NEMSIS) Technical Assistance Center (TAC) activities and operations.NEMSIS TAC Clinical SupportProvide clinical assistance to States and Territories, EMS software development companies, local EMS agencies, and other EMS stakeholders (e.g. hospitals, CDC, professional organizations) by phone, email, webinars, site visits, conferences, etc. with regards to EMS data system development, State EMS data submission to populate the NEMSIS national database, and national EMS dataset compliance.Provide clinical input and recommendations regarding requested modifications to the NEMSIS standard, ensuring relevance and ease of use among field providers.Provide clinical expertise to support State implementations of the NHTSA / NEMSIS Version 3 data standard with involvement from multiple EMS stakeholders.Aid in the development and supervision of workgroups (or community focus groups) responding to questions or ideas geared to improve the NEMSIS standard and its application.Communications:This position will serve as the NEMSIS Data Promotion Officer, and will develop and oversee a NEMSIS focused media campaign that highlights innovative applications of NEMSIS data in clinical practice and in research settings.Develop and oversee a NEMSIS focused media campaign that highlights innovative applications of NEMSIS data in clinical practice and in research settings.Participate in the development of a State on-boarding training series designed to facilitate and maintain a stable and useful implementation of the V3 standardOrganize and provide regularly scheduled trainings regarding available NEMSIS state and public resources.Participate and help facilitate bi-Monthly NEMSIS Version 3 Implementation webinars, educational presentations and new State Data Manager Training.Travel to states as needed to provide assistance.Report Development:Work with NEMSIS Principal Investigator and other stakeholders to understand their use the NEMSIS Version 3 dataset and identify their needs relevant to the NEMSIS National EMS database.Work with the NEMSIS BI team to define and develop dashboards clinically relevant to state, public and professional audiences.Research Activities:Provide clinical expertise and quality assurance review of analyses conducted by researchers utilizing the NEMSIS National EMS Dataset.Cultivates a culture of quality within job duties by identifying opportunities for improvements and innovation, seeks out opportunities to learn and teach co-workersAssist State and local EMS personnel with analysis of State or National-level NEMSIS data using NEMSIS Reporting Tools and databases.Assist in the development and review of the annual research dataset prior to publication for public use.Job Type: Full-timeSalary: $47,600.00 to $79,699.00 /yearExperience:EMS-related: 2 years (Required)Location:Salt Lake City, UT (Preferred)License:EMT or EMT-B or Paramedic (Preferred)Benefits offered:Paid time offHealth insuranceDental insuranceHealthcare spending or reimbursement accounts such as HSAs or FSAsOther types of insuranceRetirement benefits or accountsEducation assistance or tuition reimbursementEmployee discountsOthersClick here for more information and to apply
