FEMA is seeking talented individuals who are eager to assist disaster survivors. The Deputy Assistant Administrator National Preparedness Directorate position is located in Washington, DC.

The individual in this position will work closely with national preparedness divisions in all ten FEMA Regions and partners to develop and deliver an integrated suite of preparedness programs and resources to help before, during, and after disasters. This position starts at a salary of $129,148.

Position Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the implementation and delivery of preparedness programs, policies, and activities while assuring the effective and efficient use of allocated resources in accordance to FEMA policies and objectives.
  • Develops organizational plans, budgets, and fund control methods to carry out the work of the Directorate, supervising the definition, framework, and negotiating funding in support of major national preparedness programs.
  • Participates in the Agency’s strategic and systems planning, budgeting, and long-term strategic planning initiatives by partnering with FEMA Directorates and other Federal departments and agencies.
  • Ensures financial and statutory compliance in national preparedness activities and provision of executive direction and advice to subordinate staff and program officials.
  • Collaborates with FEMA Directorates and other Federal departments and to synchronize preparedness activities across the Federal government.
