High Consequence Infectious Disease Transport

Overview

The National Association of State EMS Officials (NASEMSO) received a grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services in 2017. Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response (ASPR). The purpose was to strengthen national capabilities for interfacility transport of patients with suspect or confirmed High Consequence Infectious Diseases (HCID) with the initial intent Ebola. Base on the numerous infectious disease outbreaks that have occurred including COVID -19, the content that was developed can be used for any outbreak.
