This two-year project was funded by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Office of EMS and the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Emergency Medical Services for Children (EMSC) Program through a Cooperative Agreement with the National Association of State EMS Officials (NASEMSO). NASEMSO proposed to demonstrate, at a national level, that systematic workforce evaluation and planning is vital for ensuring a robust and capable EMS workforce. This effort has yielded state EMS workforce data collection, planning and development guidelines.

The document available below includes input by multiple national and state stakeholders in the EMS industry and has been submitted to NHTSA.

More information is available through Dia Gainor, Executive Director of the National Association of State EMS Officials, by e-mailing dia@nasemso.org.
